The Ingrid chair<\/strong> is one of the most successful products in our company\u2019s history. Designed by the well-known Norwegian designer Jan Sabro<\/strong>, it represents a clear example of sustainability <\/strong>bonded to the values of our ancestors. Let\u2019s discover why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The origins of the Ingrid’s series<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One day, Urbano, a dear friend of ours, and the owner of a company specialised in the manufacture of bentwood, called Lorenzo and Marco\u2019s dad, Marino.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00abMandi* Marino! I\u2019m producing a big quantity of bentwood for a client that uses only a part of it. So, at the end of each series, I\u2019m left with some discarded elements<\/strong> which I don\u2019t want to throw away<\/strong>\u2026 it would be a serious waste. My storage is full: can you find a way to reuse these components in your products?<\/strong>\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We asked our designer, Jan Sabro<\/strong>, and entrusted him with the task. From these discarded elements of solid bentwood, <\/strong>Jan imagined to realise an armchair\u2019s armrest. Starting from that armrest, he then created a real masterpiece of design, functionality and comfort<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is how the Ingrid armchair V580<\/strong> was born. A product that is still highly requested and has an important value in terms of sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The success of the Ingrid chair<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Immediately after its launch on the market, Ingrid raised instant success<\/strong> which kept growing exponentially.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the Salone del Mobile event in Milan, it\u2019s one of the most sought-after products, and in the following month among the most sold ones. It\u2019s a worldwide phenomenon<\/strong>: first in Europe, then in America, Asia, Oceania and later also in Africa. It\u2019s magical.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The simple, neat and elegant shapes of the Ingrid chair, portray the perfect combination between Jan Sabro\u2019s Nordic design and the distinctive production know-how of the Chair District<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting from the Ingrid V580 many different models were developed, to demonstrate Ingrid\u2019s great versatility and dynamism<\/strong>. Multiple were its various combinations, among upholstery, finishes and materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dozens of standard options were born, for example, the Ingrid rocking chair, the Ingrid stool, and the Ingrid with sledge base. Thousands of variations and millions of possible combinations<\/strong> which will later group under the Dynamica collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why choosing the Ingrid chair?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Ingrid is a chair designed to adapt to different environments<\/strong>, also thanks to the maximum capacity of personalisation<\/strong> of its materials, colours and shapes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ingrid travelled in a wide range of spaces<\/strong>. Restaurants, conference and meeting rooms, offices, hotels, cruise ships, libraries, nursing homes, hospitals, universities, museums and prisons, there isn\u2019t a place missing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At present, the models still produced are the Ingrid V580 and the Ingrid V586<\/strong>, but upon request, it is possible to realise also the other models available in the catalogue<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
