Circular economy: refitting and enhancing the local area
The path to corporate responsibility is realized through the Smart Seating approach, a natural evolution of the strategic Furniture for Future project, born in collaboration with the Interreg Italy-Austria call for proposals. This method is based on the rigorous FUTURE sustainable work protocol, designed to drastically reduce the environmental impact of supplies in the HoReCa, naval, and retail sectors, historically characterized by high furniture turnover rates. By integrating in-depth technical analysis from the early stages of product development, we optimize the use of raw materials, use certified traceable wood, and apply advanced disassembly procedures, facilitating end-of-life management of furniture and proper material sorting.
We believe that true sustainability lies in product longevity, which is why we actively promote refitting and maintenance services and solutions to regenerate existing seating through targeted reupholstery, painting, or replacement of individual structural components. Our entire supply chain is developed within the “local factory” established by the Manzano Chair District, a local network that promotes widespread artisanal skills and eliminates long logistical distances. As a Benefit Corporation, we annually measure our environmental and social performance using rigorous external ESG self-assessment standards, and are committed to spreading the culture of sustainable development through ongoing partnerships with local schools, universities, and associations.
